Replit Alternatives in 2026: 8 AI App Builders Compared on Price and Fit

Emergent, Lovable, Bolt.new, v0, Cursor, Base44, Bubble and Devin Desktop compared on real 2026 pricing and who each tool suits.

By Manish Chandwani, GrowwithBA · Updated October 14, 2026

The best Replit alternatives in 2026 are Emergent, Lovable, Bolt.new, v0, Cursor, Base44, Bubble and Windsurf (now Devin Desktop). Pick Emergent or Lovable if you want an AI agent to build a full web app from a prompt, Bolt.new or v0 for fast front ends and prototypes, Base44 or Bubble if you never want to touch code, and Cursor or Devin Desktop if you or a developer will work in a real code editor. Paid plans start between $15 and $59 a month, but every tool meters AI usage differently, so the sticker price is rarely what you end up paying.

This guide compares all eight on price, how usage is billed, and who each one actually fits. Prices were checked on each vendor's official pricing page in October 2026. Plans change often in this category, so confirm on the vendor site before you buy.

Disclosure: GrowwithBA is an official Emergent partner, which is why Emergent is listed first; its pros and cons are written as plainly as every other tool here.

First, what Replit offers today

It helps to know the baseline before you switch. Replit's pricing page lists three tiers above the free Starter plan:

  • Starter (free): daily Agent credits up to a monthly cap, Lite build for quick edits, and one free published app that goes down automatically after 30 days and carries a "Made with Replit" badge. Starter has no Full build, Plan Mode or third-party connectors.
  • Core: $20 a month, or $18 a month billed annually. It includes "$20 towards more powerful models," up to 30 hours of chat on Free Mode, up to 60 projects on Free Mode, Plan mode, AI integrations and unlimited workspaces.
  • Pro: $100 a month, or $90 a month billed annually, with higher credit tiers available. It adds 10 parallel agents, premium support, up to 15 collaborators, up to 50 viewers and database rollback of up to 28 days.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing with SSO/SAML, single-tenant environments and static outbound IPs.

On the agent side, Replit's docs describe an Agent that plans, builds, tests its own work and repairs problems, with checkpoints you can roll back to. Plan mode lets you approve a task list before any code changes. Replit's launch post for Agent 4 adds design variants on an infinite canvas, parallel agents for separate parts of an app, and one project that can hold a web app, mobile app, slides and data apps sharing the same backend. Free Mode covers everyday Agent work within your plan's allowance, with limits that reset every five hours plus weekly caps; paid modes use stronger models and draw down credits.

So the usual reasons to leave Replit are not missing features. They are cost predictability once you leave Free Mode, wanting a simpler no-code experience, or wanting a proper desktop code editor instead of a browser workspace.

The 8 Replit alternatives, one by one

1. Emergent

Emergent is an agent-based builder that turns a prompt into a working web or mobile app, including backend, database and one-click LLM integrations. It is the closest like-for-like swap for someone who uses Replit Agent and rarely opens the code.

Pricing: Free gives 10 credits a month. Standard is $20 a month ($17 a month billed annually) with 100 credits, private project hosting, GitHub integration and task forking. Pro is $200 a month ($167 a month billed annually) with 750 credits, a 1M context window, "Ultra thinking," system prompt editing and custom AI agents. Business and Enterprise are custom.

Pros:

  • Builds both web and mobile apps from the same plan.
  • GitHub sync on Standard, so you are not locked into the platform.
  • Enterprise options include self-hosted database support and deploying in your own cloud.

Cons:

  • 100 credits on Standard can go quickly on large builds, and the jump to Pro is steep ($20 to $200).
  • Credit cost per task is not fixed, so budgeting takes a few weeks of tracking.
  • Like every agent builder, complex apps still need a human to review logic and security.

For a deeper breakdown, read our guide to Emergent pricing and credits.

2. Lovable

Lovable is a chat-based builder for websites and web apps, popular with product teams and founders who want a clean UI fast.

Pricing: Free includes 5 daily build credits (up to 30 a month) plus monthly Cloud credits. Pro is $25 a month with 100 credits, credit rollover, custom domains and badge removal. Business is $50 a month with 100 credits plus SSO, team workspace and internal publishing. Yearly billing gives two months free. Lovable charges by credits, not seats, so you can invite unlimited members.

Pros: transparent per-prompt credit examples (a small style change costs about 0.5 credits), unlimited users on all plans, and Plan Mode at 1 credit per message.

Cons: web only, and the 100-credit Pro allowance is shared across the whole workspace. Compare it head to head in Emergent vs Lovable.

3. Bolt.new

Bolt.new builds and hosts full-stack apps in the browser and is a good fit for quick prototypes, landing pages and MVPs.

Pricing: Free gives 1M tokens a month with a 300K daily limit and Bolt branding. Pro is $25 a month, starting at 10M tokens a month with no daily limit, custom domains and token rollover. Teams is $30 per member a month. Bolt says yearly billing saves up to 28% but does not list yearly prices.

Pros: generous free tier, unused tokens roll over, and you can choose your database provider on Pro.

Cons: token billing is hard to predict on large projects, and tokens are not shared between team members.

4. v0

v0 from Vercel is strongest at generating React and Next.js interfaces and shipping them to Vercel.

Pricing: Free allows 7 messages a day with GitHub sync and Design Mode. Plus is $30 per user a month with $30 of monthly credits and $2 of free daily credits on login. Business is $100 per user a month with training opt-out on by default. Enterprise is custom.

Pros: excellent front-end output, visual editing, and direct deployment to Vercel.

Cons: per-user pricing adds up for teams, and you will often pair it with a separate backend or database service.

5. Cursor

Cursor is an AI code editor, not a no-code builder. It suits developers, or brands with a developer, who want agents working inside a real codebase.

Pricing: Cursor's pricing page now sells it as a bundled subscription with Grok and X features. Free has limited agent requests. Plus is $8 a month but includes Grok models only. Premium is $30 a month with 4x Plus usage, cloud agents and AI code reviews. Super ($100) and Ultra ($200) raise usage. Teams starts at $30 per user a month. Third-party models such as Claude or GPT are billed separately at API list price on all plans.

Pros: full control of your code, cloud agents and automations on Premium, and spending caps for third-party models.

Cons: you need coding skills to get value, you handle hosting yourself, and the bundled model access means your real cost depends on which models you use. See Emergent vs Cursor for when a builder beats an editor.

6. Base44

Base44, acquired by Wix in 2025, builds apps with authentication, database and analytics from plain-language prompts. It targets non-technical owners who need internal tools, portals or simple customer apps.

Pricing (billed annually): Free has 25 message credits and up to 5 apps. Starter is $16 a month (100 message credits), Builder $40 (250), Pro $80 (500) and Elite $160 (1,200). Base44 says annual billing saves 20%, so monthly billing costs more.

Pros: very low entry price, built-in auth and database, and code editing plus GitHub on Builder and above.

Cons: monthly-billing prices are not listed on the page, and credit use varies by action and AI model.

7. Bubble

Bubble is the long-running visual no-code platform. Its AI app generator creates a full app (UI, logic and database) that you then edit visually, and an AI Agent is in beta for adding features and troubleshooting. Bubble says it generates an app you can understand, not code.

Pricing (billed annually, web and mobile): Free includes 50K workload units a month. Starter is $59 a month (175K units, custom domain, live site), Growth $209 (250K units) and Team $549 (500K units). Enterprise is custom.

Pros: mature visual editor, native mobile builds, and no code to maintain.

Cons: highest entry price on this list, you cannot export source code, and workload units can climb as traffic grows.

8. Windsurf, now Devin Desktop

Cognition announced Devin Desktop on June 2, 2026, calling it "the next generation of Windsurf." Windsurf's pricing page now redirects to Devin's. It is an AI IDE with Tab completions plus Devin Cloud agents.

Pricing: Free has a light agent quota and unlimited Tab completions. Pro is $20 a month with frontier models and cloud agents. Max is $200 a month. Teams costs $80 a month plus $40 per full developer seat. Extra usage is charged at API pricing.

Pros: strong value for developers at $20, and cloud agents that work in the background.

Cons: a developer tool, not an app builder, and the rebrand means older Windsurf tutorials may no longer match the product.

Why not Firebase Studio? Google's migration page says new workspace creation and signups were disabled on June 22, 2026, and Firebase Studio shuts down on March 22, 2027. Google points users to Google AI Studio or Google Antigravity instead, so we left it off this list.

How to choose the right Replit alternative

  1. Decide who will maintain the app. No developer on the team: Emergent, Lovable, Base44 or Bubble. A developer available: Cursor or Devin Desktop.
  2. Check whether you need mobile. Emergent, Bubble and Replit build mobile apps. Lovable, v0 and Bolt focus on web.
  3. Model your usage, not just the plan. Run one real feature request on the free tier and note how many credits or tokens it used.
  4. Confirm code ownership and export. GitHub sync (Emergent, Lovable, v0, Base44 on Builder+) protects you if you switch later.
  5. Price the team, not the person. Lovable charges per workspace; v0, Bolt Teams and Cursor Teams charge per seat.
  6. Plan hosting. Builders host for you. Editors like Cursor need separate hosting.

Our broader roundup of Emergent alternatives covers more tools if none of these fit.

Common mistakes when switching from Replit

  • Comparing only the headline price. A $20 plan with 100 credits can cost more than a $25 plan with rollover if your builds are large.
  • Ignoring annual-only pricing. Base44 and Bubble show annual rates. Month-to-month costs more.
  • Picking a code editor without a developer. Cursor and Devin Desktop are powerful but assume you can read and fix code.
  • Skipping a security review. AI-built apps handling customer or payment data need a human check of auth, permissions and API keys.
  • Not exporting before you leave. Pull your Replit code and database before cancelling, and confirm your published app's URL plan.
  • Choosing a tool that is winding down. Check product status pages, as the Firebase Studio closure shows.

Quick checklist before you commit

  • Built one real feature on the free plan and logged the credits used
  • Confirmed web, mobile or both are supported
  • Checked GitHub sync or code export
  • Compared monthly vs annual pricing
  • Counted seats and shared credit pools for your team
  • Confirmed hosting, custom domain and badge removal on the plan you need
  • Set a monthly spend cap or top-up limit

Frequently asked questions

What is the best Replit alternative for non-coders?

Emergent and Lovable are the closest fit if you want an AI agent to build a full app from prompts. Base44 and Bubble suit owners who want to stay entirely no-code, with Bubble offering a visual editor rather than generated code.

Is there a cheaper alternative to Replit Core?

Base44 Starter is $16 a month billed annually and Emergent Standard is $17 a month billed annually, both below Replit Core's $20 monthly price. Devin Desktop Pro is $20 a month for developers. Real cost depends on how many credits your builds consume.

Can I move my Replit project to another platform?

Yes, in most cases. Download or push your code to GitHub, export your database, then import into a tool with GitHub sync such as Emergent, Lovable, v0 or Cursor. Visual platforms like Bubble usually require rebuilding.

Is Windsurf still available in 2026?

Windsurf has been succeeded by Devin Desktop, which Cognition announced in June 2026 as the next generation of Windsurf. The Windsurf pricing page now redirects to Devin's plans.

Is Firebase Studio a good Replit alternative?

Not for new projects. Google disabled new Firebase Studio signups and workspace creation on June 22, 2026, and the service shuts down on March 22, 2027, with Google AI Studio and Antigravity suggested as replacements.
