AI app builders now let non-developers ship real products from a plain-English prompt — but Emergent.sh, Lovable and Bolt take very different routes there. We’ve built client projects on all three; here’s the honest breakdown.

The short answer

Emergent.sh is the most “agentic” of the three: you describe the product and its AI agents plan, build, test and deploy a full-stack app — closest to hiring a tireless junior team. Lovable is the friendliest for polished web-app UIs with Supabase baked in. Bolt gives developers the most in-browser control over the generated code.

Emergent.sh — best for shipping complete products

Strengths: end-to-end autonomy (frontend, backend, database, deployment), long-horizon task handling, and surprisingly production-ready output. Weakness: less granular control mid-build than Bolt. If your goal is “idea → working app with payments and auth,” this is the one we reach for. Full review: Emergent.sh review.

Lovable — best for beautiful web apps, fast

Strengths: excellent UI taste out of the box, tight Supabase integration, gentle learning curve. Weakness: complex backend logic and integrations can hit walls that need engineering help.

Bolt — best for developers who want the wheel

Strengths: in-browser dev environment, direct code editing, wide framework support. Weakness: assumes comfort with code; non-technical founders stall sooner.
